Should be used when a “twist off” occurs in the hole. Exact record is kept determine the depth of the fish while careful examination of the bottom will suggest the selection on the proper fishing tool.
When the fish will pull readily a right-head threaded tap may be used, but in complicated disengages the best practice is to use left-hand threaded taps, resining all joints where only right-hand rods are available. Unless especially ordered, taps come with a right-hand thread box.
Safety used when the fish is a rod tap because of its self-centering inside bevel
